Free Life & Career Skills Workshop Series
The Neighbourhood Centre is running a series of 6 Life & Career Skills Workshops in December and January for newcomers and job seekers.
The workshops are free and open all East Toronto-based adults. The venues are also wheelchair-accessible. Sign up for as many as you like. You will receive a Certificate of Participation if you attend 4 or more. Snacks and TTC tokens are available.

Harvest Celebration Presentation
Here is the presentation from last month’s Harvest Celebration.
Today is the Harvest Celebration Open House at the East York Community Centre at 1081 1/2 Pape Ave from 1-4pm.
If you are volunteering, please arrive at 11:30am to help set up.
The forecast is 12 degrees today and cloudy. We will have some activities and the BBQ outside in the garden, so please dress appropriately for a crisp, autumn day.

Harvest Celebration Volunteers Needed
We are looking for volunteers to help us on Sunday, October 5th during our Harvest Celebration Open House.
We are seeking people who can help with set-up/clean-up of the tent, tables and signs, cooking in the kitchen, serving food, helping with art and garden activities for children and youth, etc.
We are also seeking a community member who would be willing to talk briefly about their experience with the community kitchen during our speeches.
Set-up will begin at 11:30am on Sunday. Please let me know if you are able to lend a helping hand.
If you cannot volunteer, I hope you will still show your support for East York Neighbourhood Initiatives by attending the event and taking part in the festivities.
Harvest Celebration Open House

Fall Canning Workshop
We are having a Fall Canning Workshop on Sunday, September 28th from 1-4pm at the East York Community Centre. Registration is required and space is limited!
Updated Community Garden Drop-Ins
The Community Garden Drop-Ins will continue through September every Monday 5-6pm, Wednesday 5:30-6:30pm and Thursday 3-4pm, weather permitting. Thank you to our community volunteers Alicia, Sarah and Tharwat.
